Run for Something is an organization that recruits progressive Millennials and Gen Z to run for local and state-level office.

I began volunteering with Run for Something when they launched in early 2017, screening candidates across the country including school board, state legislature and city council candidates the organization ultimately endorsed.

From October 2017 thru July 2018, I managed the organization’s Twitter and Facebook accounts pro-bono, collaborating closely with the development, political, events and organizing teams to build a social presence that supported communications, fundraising and recruitment goals.

ENDORSEMENTS

Run for Something endorses dozens of new candidates each month. For each new cohort, I created shareable graphics for the candidates to use to promote their endorsement and that the organization uses when they win the damn thing.

ISSUE: GUN CONTROL

After the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas in Parkland, Fl., Run for Something launched an initiative to recruit candidates to run specifically against NRA-backed state legislators. On social, I supported these efforts by highlighting relevant news stories and promoting asks to donate to our candidates who are taking on the gun lobby.
